FTP info
FTP (English acronym for File Transfer Protocol – File Transfer Protocol) in computing, is a network protocol for transferring files between systems connected to a TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), based on client-server architecture. From a client computer can connect to a server to download files from it or to send files, regardless of operating system used on each computer.
The FTP service is offered by the application layer of a layered model of TCP / IP to the user, typically using the network port 20 and 21.FTP is designed to deliver maximum speed in the connection.
if you want to upload files to a remote computer will need to use an FTP client program. An FTP client is a program that is installed on the user’s computer, and it uses the FTP protocol to connect to an FTP server and transfer files, either for download or upload.
To use an FTP client, you need to know the name of the file, the computer where it resides (server, in the case of downloading), the computer you want to transfer the file (if we want to upload to the server) , and the folder where you are.
Some basic FTP client in console mode are integrated into operating systems, including Windows, DOS, Linux and Unix. However, others are available with options added and graphical interface.Although many browsers have already integrated FTP, FTP clients are more reliable when connecting to anonymous FTP servers.
Bluehost FTP
My personal favorite FTP client is File ZIlla. FTP transfers were stable and fast on my test with bluehost. You can access your FTP account also at ftp.bluehost.com . Upload your files to “public_html/” so web users can access them.
